The first of the ASP WCT 2012 world tour events started on 25th February at Queenslands Snapper Rocks, Australia.
As the competition has progressed we have seen some big names knocked out in the early stages such as Mick Fanning, John John Florence and Dane Reynolds.
However it has set us up for an unmissable men’s finals:
Heat 1: Owen Wright vs Adriano De Souza
Heat 2: Kelly Slater vs Josh Kerr
Heat 3: Jordy Smith vs Joel Parkinson
Heat 4: Taj Burrow vs Adrian Buchan.
As expected the Australians have been dominating this even with five man representation in the finals, and local Joel Parkinson scoring the first perfect 10 wave score. But as you know nothing is set in stone as Jordy Smith, Taj Burrow and Kelly Slater have been looking strong with some powerful and technical surfing.
In the Roxy Pro we have reached an all Australian Semi-Finals where the heats are as follows:
Heat 1: Tyler Wright vs Laura Enever
Heat 2: Sally Fitzgibbons vs Stephanie Gilmore
