The SUP paddle is often a hugely underestimated piece of equipment for the paddleboard rider. Matching up the correct blade size and type to the rider will bring more efficient paddling and minimise strain on the body, particularly the shoulders, leading to increased enjoyment on the water.

When buying a SUP paddle, the correct height is important (6 to 8 inches above the paddlers head ). If several paddlers of different heights are using a paddle then an adjustable one is the best way forward. If the paddle is for a particular rider, a fixed length paddle can be used, but this needs to be cut to the correct height. At Triocean surf we provide an in-house service for cutting and gluing paddles to the required height. The service is free for paddles purchased in store.
