John Purton is the owner and “head shaper” at JP Surfboards, who’s factory is located in Penclwadd, Swansea. The good thing about John is that he knows surfing! He knows his shapes and what will work best for you as a customer. And despite being extremely busy will always have time to talk to you about his passion: surfing and shaping. You may also be able to catching him talking about the rugby.
What I like about JP Surfboards website is the 3D Showroom. This “program” allows you to compare two surfboard shapes, thicknesses and rockers. This is increasingly important as we seem to have rapidly moved into electronic age where people seem to be buying more and more online. The 3D showroom gives you a full 360 degree spherical view and is definitely worth a look.
