FCS would like to congratulate Gabriel Medina & Julian Wilson on their respective one-two finish at the Quiksilver Pro, France. The two put on what can only be described as the most technical display of surfing in a World Tour final ever seen.
Gabrielle, the Brazilian wonder kid and newcomer to the elite ASP Top 34, rode the FCS PC-5 Graphic fin to chalk up his maiden WT win. His rival Julian Wilson rode a set of FCS MF-1 prototypes as the two traded manoeuvres above the lip.
“The start of the heat was slow and it was going high tide so it was a challenge,” Medina said. “It was a fun heat. It was a hard heat as well. Julian (Wilson) is an incredible surfer and I know he wanted to win very badly. I knew I needed a big score on that final wave and I had to throw everything I had to get it. I’m very happy right now.
Although Gabriel Medina had won an epic battle against Julian Wilson in France, he was knocked out in round 3 by the Australian Chris Davidson.
All eyes now on the rookie Julian Wilson to see how he gets on in round 4 against fellow Aussie, Taj Burrow and American Damien Hoobgood.
