Bantham, Bigbury and Challaborough Bay will be part of the 2012 South Hams Lifeguard Challenge. This is a three stage race over the three bays which involves a run, swim and a paddle.
The course will start with a run across Bantham beach and a short crossing of the mouth of the River Avon through to Bigbury Bay. Once at Bigbury Bay the competitors will then swim into Challaborough. The final leg of the race will be a rescue board paddle from Challaborough Beach, around Burgh Island and dash back through to Bantham Beach to cross the finish line.
The race will take place on Friday 24th August 2012, and will start at 19:30. The entry fee is £5, which will include a BBQ at Bantham after the race.
