Calling All Paddle Boarders: The Head of The Dart 2017

Initially the event was designed for rowers in the Dartmouth/ Totnes area, however due to the increasing popularity of Stand Up Paddleboaring (SUP), the event was spread out over two days; rowers competed the Saturday and SUP held their event on the Sunday. Since the SUP introduction in 2015, and the boom in popularity, the event has since seen a massive growth in competitors. Both recreational paddler’s and the serious contenders.

In the past this has been a thoroughly enjoyable event as well as a sense of achievement for the more leisurely paddlers, and well worth participating in.

The different classes for the event are:

• Ladies:
  • Ladies Leisure Class (cruising & fun)
  • Ladies Unlimited Class (all boards over 14’0″)
  • Ladies 12’6″ Racing
  • Ladies 14’0″ Racing
• Mens:
  • Mens Leisure (cruising & fun)
  • Mens Unlimited Class (all boards over 14’0″)
  • Mens 12’6″ Racing
  • Mens 14’0″ Racing
• XL/ Jumbo Board Team (4+ riders).

The confirmed date for The Head of The Dart 2017, is Sunday 2nd April.

• Start: 12:30pm, next to the Totnes Rowing Club
• Finish: Dartmouth, between the fuel barge & pontoon (opposite Coronation Park)

Entries will close at 18:00 on Wednesday 29th March. No entries on the day!
