Happy Valentines day to you all, and a chance to remember a surfing great who passed just over a year ago.
Over the course of his career Andy Irons (A.I.) had won three consecutive world titles in 2002, 2003 and 2004.
Andy passed away on 2nd November 2010 in Grapevine, Texas during a stop over on the way back to Hawaii.
A.I. had made such an impact not only in his home islands, of where the Governor of Hawaii announced that 13th February would be forever known as Andy Irons Day, but also to his fellow competitors and rivals.
Today the island of Hawaii is still celebrating Andy Irons day, as we move on to Valentines Day, so here is a short clip of why Andy Irons first and till the day he died fell in love with surfing.
