Futures Fin Box (Sold Individually)
Futures Fins and Futures Fin Boxes are designed in California by the Longo brothers. They have been doing so since 1996.
The Futures fin boxes are a pre-glass system and are therefore installed before a shaped blank is laminated. As a result of this process, “pre-glass” systems such as Futures give much more strength than older, post-glass fin box systems.
The Futures fin system is the lightest and strongest system in the world. Above all, with John John Florence as a team rider, quality can be guaranteed!
The full-base Futures system uses Interwoven Laminate Technology (ILT). In short, this means the flange on the boxes have cut-outs. Because of these cut-outs the resin flows easier. This in turn makes a better connection between the surfboard blank foam, box and fibreglass. And overall, this provides a greater strength.
Futures Fin Box Options
Cant is the angle the fin leans out from the point of vertical. The cant is built in to Futures fins, not in to the boxes. The choice of Futures fin box therefore remains simple. But there are many more options available for fins and therefore fin setups when choosing Futures.
The Futures fin boxes come with two base depth options:
- 1/2″
- 3/4″
Futures Fin Box depths & common uses
- 1/2″ fin boxes are used for centre fins and quad rears.
- 3/4″ fin boxes are used for thruster side fins, quad front fins or longboard trailer fins.
