Graeme Bunt the owner/shaper of Local Hero Surfboards has been surfing for nearly 30 years and shaping boards for 20 years. Surfing has taken him around the world to locations tsuch as: South America and North America, South Africa, USA, Europe and the Canary Islands. All these places have helped him to understand the needs of travelling Surfers as well as local Surfers.

What is a 'Magic Carpet'? This is, in a nut shell, a Longboard with the centre 2½ft missing out of the middle. It has the same width in the nose, tail and centre point as a traditional Longboard thus making it easy to paddle with and it picks up waves with ease. The reduced rail line allows you to turn on a mark and it can be used in a large range of conditions. The new blanks we use for these boards have a relaxed rocker, and the volume as been kept right up into the nose of the board so that the board can then draw greater speed from the wave.

'Magic Carpets' are great for everything from 'old school style' stretch nose rides in the pocket, to simply cruising on the mellow days. Surfing the bigger days with this board will give you added stability and an easy wave entry. It's our best seller for those reasons!
