What board ? I'm a novice, I'm small to medium height average weight

Ok then, you're just out of a surf lesson (or self taught), can stand up & do basic manouvers. What are your options from Triocean now you want to buy a surfboard?

You're of average height / weight , male or female...

1) SOFTBOARDS: Ours range from 6ft to 10ft in height...In general 6fters are for the little 'uns..7ft for juniors...8ft for large juniors, ladies & general family play board. 9ft for larger bodies & 10 ft for big dudes or those who want to catch everything..Not suitable for the tiny surfers in the family though!

2) MINI MALS: From 7'2" to 8ft...The bigger you are, look for 2 3/4 to 3" thick.
These are good choice family surfboards.

3)LONGBOARDS : Big & floaty, a handful for smaller people until they get used to to the large amount of foam! Hard to 'duck dive' great for smaller days...Not suitable for tiny kiddies unless supervised.

4)SHORTBOARDS: If you have to get a shortboard as a novice..Look for volume...Big wide fish, our Roger Cooper MAGIC MAT (23" wide) this is an improvers board though. Bunty Rocket fish..Hooded Villain Big boys flyers...

Don't forget though, you will have to get used to the reduced volume in shorter surfboards..They will feel tippy compared to surf school surfboards.
